For Peter's Sake II

Interesting stuff that doesn't merit a full blog post on For Peter's Sake.

I usually really enjoy NPR’s news coverage, but ever since the last election cycle I think the quality is slipping. Last week’s interview with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is unfortunately indicative of this slide. In this exclusive interview, NPR correspondant Michele Kelemen spoke with Secretary Clinton about rebuilding Gaza, dipolomacy with Russia, and other foreign policy challenges. Keleman really put Clinton’s feat to the fire with questions like, “This is a lot of diplomatic outreach in one week,” and “Do you think that’s why you had such an overflow crowd at this town hall in the European parliament building, or why you got applause at dinner with European foreign ministers? I mean, that’s quite unusual.” For her part, Secretary Clinton cheerfully repeated her talking points. My quarrel isn’t with the Secretary — she did her job. Michelle Keleman did not.
